Welcome to Bella Vista’s September 2010 Newsletter

Lots of positive things are happening for our Gallery Artists: Let's give a shout out to Karen Margulis, whose pastel was accepted into the Pastel Society of America's 38th annual Exhibition; which will be held at the National Arts Club in New York City. This is a very prestigious exhibition, where only 160 entries are accepted out of over 1600. Also exhibiting in New York, Richard Cary, a local photographer and professor at Mars Hill College. Rick has been working for years documenting several Appalachia religious groups. Some, whom practice the handling of poisonous snakes. Cary's show titled, "Credo", will feature 25 photographs at the Abrons Art Center. Also in the spotlight, the magnificent raku pottery of Terry Hagiwara. His work will be featured in "500 Vases", Lark Books, this fall. Way to go artists!

Gallery artists have been busy sending the Gallery new works. Sara Linda Poly, our wonderful landscape painter, will be our Feature Wall Artist for September. Her paintings are beautiful and "hot of the press". Lea de Wit, has sent us beautiful blown glass vessels, and blown glass Gourd Patch . August Hoerr has been busy painting too. He dropped off "In the Clearing" before taking off to travel and perform. When he gets back to the US, we will be eagerly awaiting his smaller paintings. Scott Haines raku vessels are due to arrive any day. Once they arrive I will definitely get images on the Gallery's website.

Events to check out: WNCAP is having their "Raise Your Hand" Art Auction. AND a big thanks goes out to Nathaniel Galka, and Trinity St. James for once again donating paintings for the auction.........we really appreciate it. Other events: LAAFF, Lexington Street Art and Fun Festival. This weekend on Lexington Ave. downtown Asheville.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend.
